Pantry Refresh
The easiest way to upgrade a pantry isn't more storage — it's consistent storage. Swapping mismatched boxes & bags for a few repeated shapes (glass canisters, woven baskets, matching bins) does more visual work than any renovation. Below is a running collection of non-plastic pieces worth keeping on hand for reference, whether you're setting up a new kitchen or refreshing an old one.
A few tips that make the biggest difference:
Repetition over variety. Pick one or two canister styles & stick with them — a shelf of matching jars reads as "designed," even if nothing else changes.
Store like with like. Group by category (grains, snacks, baking) rather than by size or shape. It's easier to shop your own pantry that way.
Let texture do the styling. Rattan, wire, and wood lids add warmth without adding clutter.
Leave room to see what you have. Clear canisters & open baskets cut down on food waste because nothing gets lost in the back.
Don’t forget about hidden storage. While I love displaying pantry items, I prefer to keep cleaning products tucked away. Cafe curtains with a tension rod are a quick way to hide clutter without a full cabinet build-out.
