Lakeview Living

Lakeview, comprising of a few neighborhood enclaves like Boystown & Wrigleyville, is one of the largest neighborhoods on Chicago’s North Side. Easily accessible (thanks to the Red & Brown “L” lines and bus stops aplenty), Lakeview is also one of the city’s liveliest neighborhoods. You can find runners & bikers on the Lake Shore Trail while others set sail from Belmont Harbor. Home to some of Chicago’s favorite festivals (Pride Parade), farmer’s markets, nightlife, theaters and more, Lakeview also provides a haven from the downtown hustle with its tree-lined streets and charm. Oh, and Lakeview is where I call home.

As a Lakeview Resident

“Living in Lakeview is all the feels–it’s indescribable. You have the crowds of Wrigley Field juxtaposed with a family teaching their child how to ride a bike. And between all of that, in one of the most populous neighborhoods of Chicago, I see someone I know every single day. That sense of community is almost unheard of! Lakeview is such a large neighborhood with so many residents, but being able to experience that every day is incredible.” — KM

Lakeview offers a variety of housing styles and prices while also boasting some of the city’s top-rated schools. Featuring a little bit of everything, options include vintage walk ups, new construction flats, condominiums, lofts, converted courtyard buildings and also a few high-rises. Single-family homes, stately mansions and new construction accompany the mixture.

The Area

Public Transportation: Chicago’s busiest route, the Red Line is great for getting around to the north & south sides of Chicago & for getting into the Loop. A fan favorite, the Brown Line runs throughout the Northwest Side, starting in Albany Park into the Loop. Beginning all the way in Chicago’s North Shore suburb, Wilmette, the Purple Line passes through Evanston and into Chicago's North Side, while also extending even further south into the Loop during weekday rush hours.

Highway Access: Depending on which side of Lakeview you live in, getting to the highway can be a pain, but it’s nothing most couldn’t manage.

Other Perks: Close to the Lake, Lake Shore Drive & Wrigley Field (Home of the Chicago Cubs)
